My husband and I are thinking of moving to the Chicago area. The job is in Villa Park and we are considering houses in Aurora. It says that it takes 43 minutes on mapquest. Is this pretty accurate or is it more due to normal traffic or less? Also, we are finding SUPER cheap, nice houses listed in Aurora, is there a reason for this (Tons of forclosures?)?|||Based on some proprietary data that I have at work, I checked a route from Gourmet Pizza Corporation (9 N Elmwood Dr, Aurora, IL 60506 (630) 897-2242) to Aurelio's Pizza (100 E Roosevelt Rd, Villa Park, IL 60181 (630) 629-3200) to get the extent of the commute.
At 7:30 AM your travel time on the best route (along I-880): 40 minutes on Monday; 37 minutes on Tuesday and Wednesday; 36 minutes on Thursday and Friday; 33 minutes on Saturday; and 34 minutes on Sunday.
At 4:30 PM your travel time on the best route (same as above) will be: 41 minutes on Monday; 45 minutes on Tuesday; 44 minutes on Wednesday; 46 minutes on Thursday; 47 minutes on Friday; 36 minutes on Saturday; and 37 minutes on Sunday.
Of course, the travel times assume that there are not any crashes or incidents along your route 鈥?hard to know in advance when those will happen.
To see what traffic is like from where you want to live to Villa Park, you should check out the mapquest.com page and click on "traffic" at the top right of the webpage to see what conditions are like at the time(s) you want to go there and back.
If you have an iPhone or Android phone, INRIX (a leading traffic data company) makes it traffic data available for free on major roads throughout the country 鈥?more details at the 2nd link below.
Housing prices are beginning to rise all over the country so y'all want to get something quickly. Hopefully, we have reached the bottom of the downturn.
Good luck and safe travels!
