Which Country should I visit to see the Aurora Borealis?

I would love to see the Aurora Borealis. I know there is no guarantee of seeing it, but I would like to increase my chances as much as I can.

Which Country out of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland would you recommend and why?|||Lapland in Finland is also a good choice, though then again you have to make sure there are no city lights nearby that would ruin the viewing experience! Finland should not be as cold as e.g. northernmost Norway.|||I recommend Norway for 2 reasons. It has an actual city (Troms酶) in the best viewing area for the northern lights, which means easier access and more things to do. The scenery in northern Norway is also spectacular. No matter where you go, you'll need to get away from city lights and have clear skies. There are tours from Troms酶 that do this, if you don't have a way out of the city on your own. October-March are when the lights are visible, though many people recommend January-March for the best weather. WIkitravel has a good overview of Troms酶:

And the Norwegian Tourist Board lists excursions, under "More northern lights experiences":

from November to February you have good chance of seeing it... Just pack some warm clothes.

It can get down to -30 and even lower. If you ad wind you are in for someting interesting ^^
