What is the differences between southern aurora and southern lights?

Is it the same thing or different?|||No differences, except in their location. If fact, most of the time active aurora borealis means active aurora australis, and vice versa. The only difference is that the south magnetic pole is much farther from human habitation than the north magnetic pole, so the aurora australis is mostly observed by the penguins.|||Same thing, just different terms. The same is true for the Northern Lights and Aurora Borealis.|||aurora aus路tra路lis (么-r么r??么-str?lis) noun

A luminous phenomenon of southern regions that corresponds to the aurora borealis of northern regions. Also called southern lights.
