Is it possible for an aurora borealis to show itself in oregon?

Last night, i looked in the sky while walking home from a local festival and the sky was dark. except for this creamy white smear trailing across the sky.

What was it? It truely didnt look like a cloud. Or an aurora either. Maybe imagine a mixture of the two.|||From a fellow Oregonian; yes. Unlikely. Would require an especially active period from the sun, and you wouldn't be the only one noticing...it would make the news. Aurora tend to be green/pink, though other colors are seen. Somehow I think it may have been a cloud.|||it is possible.|||You might be able to see it in Oregon, but, it comes from Alaska and the surrounding area.|||First guess would be that you noticed the Milky Way (thats the galaxy our Sun is in) but the Aurora can be seen a long way South.
