Will a 3800 series engine, the kind in 99 and earlier Auroras, fit a 01 aurora engine compart?

I need to know what would be involved in replacing the 4.0 liter V-8 Northstar engine in a 2001 Olds Aurora with a 3.8 liter v-6, "3800 series" engine.|||that is a great undertaking. Two different types of engines, wiring harnesses, and probably transmissions, motor mounts, cv axles.....
